ZANACO Bank has awarded the best five University of Lusaka (UNILUS) graduates with job opportunities and rendered financial support to the five entrepreneurs.
Zanaco chief executive officer Mukwandi Chibesakunda said her institution was looking for individuals who could adapt to change, think critically and have strong ability to learn and apply new skills.
Ms Chibesakunda said UNILUS had adhered to its motto of passion for quality education, a driving force which she believed the graduates would live by.
She said she expected the graduates to apply critical thinking and agility as they held degrees from an institution like UNILUS.
Ms Chibesakunda said when she officiated at UNILUS's 13 graduation ceremony in Chongwe District that in order to be successful in the current job market, it was important to be proactive about future education and personal career development.
This means staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, seeking out opportunities for continuing education and cultivating a strong professional network," he said.
She said it was also important to develop a strong set of soft skills such as communication, networking and problem-solving as these skills were highly valued by employers to set the graduates apart from other candidates.
Ms Chibesakunda urged the graduates wanted to set up their own businesses to be open-minded and flexible in their approach so that they could create jobs.
She said there was value in their graduation to enable them embrace new challenges and opportunities for growth.
The graduation ceremony was celebrated under the theme The Value of Education"
